Oracle customers often adopt OTBI because it provides real-time transactional reporting with no additional licenses or fees. But OTBI has two specific disadvantages: one, it is a rigid tool that cannot be customized easily. Two, with OTBI it is difficult to derive insights if data is to be drawn from multiple areas.
If OTBI does not work for a customer, Oracle often recommends using BI Publisher, but this is a product designed for developers. Business users cannot build ad-hoc dashboards or reports with BI Publisher without support from IT and this makes it inefficient.

With GLSense, you can quickly build financial statements within Microsoft Excel. When you create a new statement, it will automatically populate with live data on Oracle Cloud Financials. It also makes it easy for your finance team to perform ad-hoc general ledger account analysis so they can make sure transactions are posted to the right GL accounts.
